How did you get to where you are now?
To begin to determine your starting point you need to take look at how you came to be at this point in your life.
Have you been this way as long as you can remember? Or was there a specific turning point?
As an example: Maybe you’ve had children and started gaining weight then, but found it harder to lose with each child.
Perhaps you just let life get away from you and let go of healthy habits.
No matter what your circumstance may be it’s important to be honest with yourself here and take a hard look at what put you here.
Acknowledge the past.
Now, if you’re like most women you’ve likely tried to make healthy changes in the past.
For whatever reason though the changes didn’t stick.
Maybe you tried to take on too much at once with an unrealistic plan or you followed whatever fad was going on at the time.
But, in order for this time to be any different from those times before you must acknowledge what you’ve tried and determine what went wrong.
That way you don’t end up in the same situation or worse with the yo-yo cycle.
Take a look at where you are now.
I’ll tell you right now that this is the hardest part.
You have to begin documenting where you are right now.
That means you’re going to have to take pictures and measurements.
It doesn’t mean that you get to beat yourself up over it.
Your current state is not reflective of you as a person, it’s just the numbers and pictures that tell a story of change.
And if you’re undertaking a journey of any kind you need to document the process.
This is only the beginning and there are so many amazing things to come.
